Sexton started in his new role on Jan. 8. Previously, he was a senior regional manager and director of the Community Development Division for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.
“Kevin has spent a career promoting Arkansas to others around the world, and we’re delighted to have him now focused on highlighting the tourism appeal of Hot Springs Village’s scenic 26,000 acres and our rich opportunities for golf and recreation,” said Hot Springs Village CEO Lesley Nalley.
Sexton was with AEDC for more than a decade. Before that, he served as a group travel consultant with the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.
A Bryant native, Sexton graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a degree in Business Administration. He has certification as a Professional Community and Economic Developer from the Community Development Institute at the University of Central Arkansas. He is also a graduate from the Economic Development Institute through the University of Oklahoma, and he completed his basic economic development training at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. An avid golfer, Sexton has been a property owner in Hot Springs Village for many years.
“Hot Springs Village has always held a special place with me and I look forward to showcasing this Arkansas gem to visitors both nationally and internationally,” Sexton said. “Hot Springs Village has always had a tremendous impact economically in Arkansas. Watching what the community is doing to create growth and sustainability for the future is among the many reasons why I’m honored to be a part of the team.”
