The 2017 Senior Expo, “The Golden Years,” will be held Friday, October 6, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Coronado Community Center, 150 Ponderosa Way. This event, in its second year, will feature free medical testing by CHI St. Vincent and break-out sessions covering legal expertise on aging, advice on staying mentally and physically active, and transition planning.

In addition to informational sessions, the “Golden Years” expo will partner with numerous organizations to provide cultural sessions. Local vendors will offer door prizes every hour throughout the event and will provide information about their services. Local restaurants such as Granada Grill, Balboa Lounge, Ouachita Mountain Smokehouse, and Sweet Cheeks Bakery will offer tastings as part of “Taste of Excellence.” “Whimsical Creations,” a new addition to the expo this year, will offer three sessions of art therapy throughout the day. “Pause for Paws” will allow attendees to visit with adoptable pets from the HSV Animal Welfare League in the meditation court yard, and “Watching Over Us” will allow attendees to view fully equipped rescue vehicles and equipment, courtesy of the Hot Springs Village Police and Fire Departments and LifeNet.
